Solar panels

Solar panels or photovoltaic systems are made of semiconductor material for example silicon and glass and a small portion of other metals like boron that create the necessary electric fields to produce the flow of electricity.

A solar panel generates electricity when photons knock electrons free from atoms, setting them in motion. The flow from electrons is electricity that is captured by the solar panels, turning them into a usable electric current.
